Will I be able to work while studying?

Students who wish to work can do so to supplement their income by working part time. Working part time is also a great way for students practice their English skills and make valuable contacts. While studying, students are restricted to working up to 20 hours per week during the semester.

If you plan to work whilst study, you will need to apply for permission to work on your student visa with a fee of $60. You should also ontain a Tax File Number (TFN), which is like your personal income tax code in Vietnam. You can apply for this from the Australian Tax Office when you arrive in Australia. Employers will need your TFN need to pay for your work.
